My First Lush Haul + Reviews!
On the 14th October 2020 I purchased my first (non bath bomb) lush haul. A few weeks prior to this, my mum visited the biggest Lush store in the world, in Liverpool where an employee encouraged her to try R&B hair moisturiser alongside hair custard and a couple more goodies.
My mum has curly hair too hence why she was recommended these hair products. It didn't take me long to try them for myself and I instantly fell in love with the custard and R&B which lead to my first Lush haul.
I picked out the R&B (newly renamed to Revive), a candy cane lip scrub, angels on bare skin mini sample and a big tub of curly wurly shampoo. I'd done some research online before shopping and I knew that curly wurly had been discontinued so I was surprised to see this in store, I eagerly put it in my basket and checked out.
I'll start off my saying the lip scrub is absolutely delicious and works wonderfully on my lips. It smells delightful, a sweet and subtle peppermint smell that exfoliates just the right amount, not too harsh and there's so much product jam packed inside that it's sure to last a while. It was an easy decision to pick this scrub out from the others as this is a Christmas limited edition one, it won't be around for long!
Angels on bare skin. I'm not on the market for a new cleanser just yet, I need to work through my stash of The Body Shop ones first but I'd heard such wonderful reviews about angels on bare skin I thought I would ask for a sample. The sample was tiny but I still got about 5 days worth of use from it which gave me a good idea of how it works on my skin. It's the first Cleanser I've tried that really felt like it cleaned my skin, my face felt soft, maybe a little bit dry but completely clean after using it. It evened out my skin tone and brightened my face which is definitely promising but maybe it was a little bit too drying for my skin. I'm looking forward to trying some other lush cleansers in the future particularly Herbalism and Aqua Marina.
OK now for my brief thoughts on R&B , now called Revive, it smells lovely and whenever I've used it on my hair the smell lingers for days afterwards which I love, who doesn't enjoy their hair smelling great?! My crazy curly hair sucks up the moisture that it provides, it's a very smooth cream so it doesn't feel clumpy or like it's clogging your hair up once applied. Overall it's probably my new favourite hair product of all time. I've been applying it all over my hair top to bottom once it's been washed, mid way through hair drying with a defuser and I also apply it as and when my curls need a pick me up throughout the week.
Curly wurly shampoo, again I'd seen some fabulous reviews online and it certainly hasn't disappointed. I was worried at first that the raw coconut pieces inside the shampoo would be a nightmare to pull out of my hair once it was dried because I'd seen a handful of people online say that was a negative about the product but I don't experience this at all. The coconut pieces just wash right out of my curls when I'm washing my hair. The product is very moisturising, it's a strange consistency for shampoo if you've never used anything like it before because it's a thick paste and you only need a small amount, probably the size of a £2 coin. But surprise surprise, it's the best shampoo I've ever used on my curly hair and unfortunately it's discontinued!! Which makes me so sad. I've stocked up, I have two tubs of it which will take me a while to get through. Best of all it adds volume and enhances the curls on the top of my hair which is normally less curly than the bottom / underneath of my hair so it's a huge win.
I can only hope that the new afro hair range Lush are bringing out this November is as good as the discontinued products I've used so far. Fingers crossed!
