Lush Boxing Day Sale 2020

It was a last minute decision on the eve of the sale that my mum kindly suggested she would take me to the Chester Lush store for their Freshness / boxing day sale on 27th December 2020 (they were closed on the 26th) of course I was thrilled and said yes! Because I was certain I wasn't going to make it to any of the stores as I can't drive and my boyfriend was working.

I didn't want to get my hopes up that I'd be able to get much (or anything) and I knew I'd need to be prepared to be stood in a queue for a long time. I have a few chronic conditions that mean I can't stand or walk for long without being in a lot of pain so I took my walking stick, my comfiest pair of shoes and painkillers.

I arrived at 10:45am for the 11am opening. There was already a queue, as I expected, of around 40 people. The store was only going to allow 6 people in the shop at any time. After five minutes of waiting, a very kind person walked up to me and asked if I wanted to take her husbands place in the queue, they were standing as 7th and 8th in line, I couldn't believe the generosity and I said yes please. She noticed I had a mobility aid and said she knows what it's like to need a mobility aid and wanted to help. I'll never forget her kindness that day! Also doesn't this show the kind of people who shop at Lush? What a great reflection that is of the company and the kind of people it attracts.

I can't tell you how much a relief it was knowing I wouldn't be suffering for the rest of the day from standing in a queue with chronic pain. Eternally grateful.

When it was my turn to step into the store I asked if they had any wow boxes left, I was directed to a table where there was a few there and I couldn't believe it! I picked one up and looked at the tag to see the contents and knew I needed to buy it!

How lucky! Originally £197 reduced to half price!

I moved my way around the shop until I got to the bath bombs and bubble bars where I picked up a Golden wonder bath bomb, I want a hippopotamus for christmas bath bomb, kinky boots bubble bar, snow fairy bubble bar, Holly go lightly bath bomb (sort of wishing I'd got a second one of those!)

And finally a very very frightening shower gel which was from their 2020 Halloween range the size is 460g and it was £10 reduced from £20 and lastly, a golden pear soap because I noticed it wasn't included in the WOW box and I had wanted to try this soap for a while.

I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to go to a lush store for the sale when many couldn't because of the Covid tier system or for other reasons such as mobility. I really wish they had done an online sale and I hope its something they do in the future to make their sales more accessible. I also feel very lucky to of bought what I did and to of had the wonderful experience. I'm grateful for the staffs patience and time for being able to make the sale happen and especially grateful that the staff were so patient when I forgot my pin number for my card (thanks brain fog! Ha)
